Beach Day

Harrison is playing in the sand, but in this picture it kinda looks like he wanted to be in the boat. Harrison took a kayak ride with Kurt, and then was kinda done- 1 boat ride is that guy's limit! LOL!

Carter and Kurt kayak in the ocean! Carter had flipped the boat a few moments before.

Carter-mania =)

Once the kayak is on dry land, Captain Carter demands his trusty Skipper 'Arisson to start rowing the sand!

Grandpa joins the swimming! Grandpa Smith, Kurt, Carter, and Harrison all playing in the warm waves. Harrison is the closest on the lower left- and Carter is in the upper right, near Grandpa- SWIMMING! He learned to SWIM! WAY TO GO CARTER!

Our last full day in Mexico we knew we had to spend at the beach. We couldn't think of anything better than waves, sand, and family!

Tulum

Little explorers climb the perimeter!

A future archaeologist? Carter is looking for treasure!

What did our little explorers just find? A light under a fiberglass rock. LOL! That will teach the national park to try and hide their evening lighting! Cant fool my kids! LOL!

Our family =) Carter REALLY wants to run around and grab an iguana, lol, and Harrison really wants a nap!

Iguanas and ruins- good stuff!

We took a professional tour, and they gave us about 2 hours to mess around on our own. Carter decided that he would be our tour guide for the rest of the day. Here is a picture of him instructing us on where we should go. =p

Harrison enjoys balancing and jumping around!

How cool is this?!

I love visiting historical sites. The anthropologist in me goes crazy! Learning about other cultures or other times is a passion of mine, so when Grandpa Smith suggested seeing Tulum I jumped at the opportunity! Here are some of the pictures- if you look closely you will see many of the iguanas on the ruins getting some sun!

Playin in Playa!

Yes, this is how Carter chose to dress himself. No, I didn't make him change. Carter- you are too cute!

Carter got to have pizza for lunch, I tried to get him to let me take pictures in exchange. No dice.

The women were right, Catsup is an appropriate spelling. BAM. The spelling of the tomato product was a topic of discussion during the trip, lol!

The kids found this while walking along downtown- they had to sit by it! Carter thought it was pretty neat. Harrison was more intent on finding a good toy to take home.

Harrison feeds his new dolphin. The dolphin's name is "Whale"

A day trip into downtown Playa was the business of the day- and what an adventure it was!

"Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!"

LOL, right after the posed picture, I accidently snapped this- what a great action shot! Harrison was singing "Happy Birthday" and Carter was messing around. I love Grandpa's face in this- full of awe =)

What a great way to celebrate a birthday- holding the one you love most =)

Today was Grandpa Smith's birthday- 62 years young! We celebrated by spending the day together, playing around. It was a wonderful! I cannot think of a better way to spend a birthday than surrounded by people who love me- I hope that my dad feels the same! It really was a great day- good food, company, and amazing views. We were at the front of a pretty empty beach- life doesnt get better than this, and we are SO SO SO SO thankful for this vacation! (And for our wonderful life!!!!)

Sunshine Fun!

Carter and Daddy went to the beach alone, it was so much fun for little Carter!

Later in the day, we all went to the beach as a family!

Ready for some fun!

Harrison enjoys playing in the sand!

Carter contemplates the meaning of life. No... really... we think that is what he was doing. He wanted to be left alone, and watched waves. What a neat guy!

Love!

Harrison splashes in the small sand-removal pool. LOL! How silly! He is such a ham!

Grandpa Smith does what he loves best- READING!

Sun time!

Carter loves the good life =)

Spring Break is here!!! This year we are going to Playa Del Carmen with Grandma and Grandpa Smith- how fun! We REALLY needed a vacation- we didnt realize it had been so long! We have moved more than we have relaxed over the last few years- that needs to change!
Getting to Mexico was an adventure =) The kids came to SLC with Kurt to meet me, where I had been taking an exam. We flew from SLC to Cancun, and we shuttled down to our resort. Talk about WONDERFUL. We have had nothing but fun since we got here!

We arrived at the resort and put the kids in the pool. They swam for hours! After the swim, they took a bubble bath, and they had such a great time! Why? The bath was on the balcony! What is better than a jetted bath full of bubbles?! NOTHING!

The first night we were here we had a wonderful poolside dinner together, thanks to Grandpa Smith for such a great treat! Best Mahi Mahi EVER!!! After dinner, we put the kids to bed, and Kurt and I took a walk on the beach. Walking hand-in-hand with my eternal companion was so romantic! The moon was full and bright, and it was so beautiful to see the light reflecting off the white sand and the water. We found a small alcove under a palm tree and we sat down in the sand- we gazed at the clouds passing in the bright moonlit sky, the waves rolling against the shore, and we watched a cruise ship sail in the distance. It was so wonderful to sit together, embracing one another, and just being together.

We are still here tonight, the resort has Wi-Fi! Tomorrow we will be doing more swimming and having more fun!
